Mobile Office Product Line
Overview
Shafer's Mobile Office would not be complete without a hardware system to match the power of our field service software. We employ a handheld computer, NOT a PDA, for our Mobile Office solution and each unit is secured in its own docking station when it is in the truck. The truck pedestal connections provide power from the truck battery. A thermal printer or a cell phone holder will also attach to the pedestal. The computer uses wireless communications and can integrate with a GPS system for managing fleet activity.
In addition, we provide items that will allow technicians to view an onscreen map (MapLink) showing the location of their next call, a credit card scanner and bank authorization software to instantly approve credit cards and checks.

· 8 1/2" x 11" Thermal Printer
The printer used by Mobile Office is a durable thermal printer with very few moving parts, and no ink cartridge or ribbon to mess with. The paper is a 100 ft. roll of high-quality thermal finish. The roll will provide aproximately 75 - 8 1/2" X 11" printed pages. The roll is stored within the black box to protect it from sunlight. When the unit is in its cradle, it functions just like an office desk, feeding information directly from the computer to the printer.
