Printed Flat Rate Book
Overview
It is our goal to provide the HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and any other service industries with the BEST flat rate pricing program in the industry. Shafer's Flat Rate Software will give you the ability to customize and print your own Flat Rate Books in full color and with graphics. Use Marketing Tags to grab your customer's attention and Book Tabs to define the various sections of your books. Parent/child and master/add-on formats let you use the method that complements your company procedures. Our "You Save" feature displays the highest and lowest rates, letting the customer see the amount they "saved" when compared against another rate (your "full price" rate, a competitors rate, etc.). This feature is especially helpful for maintenance agreement sales, giving the customer the ability to see what they would have paid without having an agreement. A Flat Rate book will empower your technicians with authoritative knowledge and add to their overall professionalism. Plus, technicians will make less errors, having all the information at their fingertips. When applied properly, a full-color, illustrated flat rate book also has the potential to be an Equipment Sales Book, likely increasing equipment sales.

· Printing Your Book
Shafer’s gives you many options when printing your books and most importantly, you are in control. We'll give you the tools to easily customize the look and feel of your book. You can choose from various fonts, colors and even customize the layout, printing a single price or up to 8 different prices. Adding pictures to your scenarios and printing your books in color will create a professional and dynamic presentation for your customer! AND, you are not limited to just the book for your customers. You can print a technician's field book, detailed back office book or a scenario index.

· Scenario Master Records
When you receive Shafer's Flat Rate Software you'll also receive a database filled with scenarios (available for the HVAC, electrical, plumbing and oil/hydronics industries). Each scenario master record includes scenario setup, contribution amounts, page layout, picture importing and general information. See the enlarged images at right for more information. You can use our scenarios, and edit or delete them, or create your own new scenarios.

· Marketing Tags
Help your customers feel good about doing business with you! Shafer's Flat Rate Pricing Program will let you include six key marketing tag lines at the TOP of each page of your printed flat rate book. Each tab section may also have its own set of marketing tags. Utilize this space to promote the special features of your company (core values, warranty guarantees, etc.) and subliminally send a positive message BEFORE they see the pricing.

· Book Labels
Shafer’s turns control of column labels and calculation headings over to you. You'll also be able to add departments, choose whether or not to print parts or show the second repair pricing line. In addition, you'll be able to add your company name and an additional message to the bottom of each page.

· Calculation Tables
Once each calculation label is defined within the Book Label setup, the dollar values are defined within the Calculation Tables. These tables hold all of the cost and retail value amounts for labor, material and sales tax.

· Diagnostic Charges
Shafer’s provides the option for you to include diagnostic or other service charges on your scenarios. This fee may be billed separately, or included as part of the Job Scenario Price. If they are included within the price, they will still be listed on the back office pricing book.

· Optional 1st & 2nd Repair
You can choose to print a single price, or up to 8 different prices.
This includes four prices for the first repair and four for the second. If your choice is not to use the
2nd repair pricing you can always use the add-on additional repairs method.

Inserting pictures into your scenarios will help illustrate your equipment and give life to your presentation. · Parent/Child Records
Shafer's Flat Rate Software uses a parent and child format for scenarios. The parent scenario will typically contain all material and labor required to perform the job, with the exception of the main equipment unit (and any related accessories) which will be part of the child scenario. The parent scenario will be listed in your price book without prices and the pricing for them is automatically added to each related child scenario, representing the total job. Child scenarios will always be printed in the price book below the parent scenario.

· Add-On Additional Repairs
Shafer’s flexible Flat Rate Software allows you to have add-on scenarios at the end of each tab section instead of the alternative "2nd Repair" pricing on each page. Each of these scenarios is clearly identified as an Add-on (as shown on slide at right) and can be added to any master record within that tab section.

· Back-Office Book
In addition to a book for the technician that can be used to show your customers, a book can also be printed for the back office. Each scenario is printed with complete details for cost/retail rates on labor and material and illustrates the markup percentages/profits.
