Performance Register
Overview
With Shafer's Performance Pay Register, you can easily see the gross margin figures your company is generating for each and every sale processed through the system. These margin figures take into account any and all commissions paid to technicians through the system commission tables. Parts and labor costs are all displayed for easy review. Commission figures to low? To high? You can easily adjust the calculated commission to a figure more in-line with desired results.
Dispatches created through the service module are assigned to technicians for maintenance, service, or job cost work to be done. As the dispatches are completed they are accumulated in the Performance Pay Table.The Performance Pay table holds the dispatch payroll information to be included into timecard entries when payroll is processed. When the billing process occurs the Performance Pay Table is updated with the appropriate information for existing records, or new records are added into the table. When payroll timecard entry is done, the user can access the Performance Pay Table to select the items to be included into the specific pay period. The line items in the table can then be selected in multiples or a single entry to be included into the employee’s current payroll period.

· Locating/Viewing Performance Records
All performance pay records are stored within the Performance Pay database. You will be able to search by technician or date for each record. Technician results display all of the known records for the chosen technician. Date results displays the records by technician name and selecting the technicians name will allow each record to be accessed. The details displayed for each record includes: the date, customer number, invoice number, dispatch number, etc,

· Commission Tables
Commission tables will calculate rates and percentages of commissions paid for work done by a technician. Multiple levels of commissions can be defined. Tables are created for each technician level and then attached to all of the various sales class codes that the technician is associated with.

· Commission Charts
Commission charts define the dollar amounts that a sale is required to reach (and the gross margin required before making the sale eligible) before sales commission can be assigned. Once the total sale and gross margin amounts are met, the chart is used to calculate the percentage of bonus/commission paid to a technician for that sale total. Commission percentages are also defined for materials and labor in this chart. You will also have the option to define whether the bonus/commission is being calculated upon the gross profit or gross sale and also spread the total percentages it more than one technician performs work.

· Performance Register Record
The Performance Register record is a file compiled of information imported from dispatches, invoices and timecards. Commission amounts and all details related to labor, material and other fees are displayed using Shafer's easy-to-access file folder format. Each of three folders (labor, materials and other fees) expands on the information found in the summary folder.

· Module Integration
Dispatching, billing, and payroll are all integrated with Shafer's Performance Register. Dispatching events automatically generate commission, based on the commission tables and charts. In billing, the performance register details can be viewed from within the invoice screen (see enlarged slide at right) and time card entries are generated from each performance register record.

· Additional Security Settings
In addition to standard file/folder security, Shafer's password protection feature requires a password to be entered in order for the Performance Register to be accessed. This prevents users who might be using another's login, from accessing any performance pay information.
